From local files to live collaboration.
Follow these steps to initialize your React project, build components, and connect them to the visual authoring app.
- 1
Create your project
Initialize a new file-based Vite project. Choose a starting template — marketing, docs, store and more — or start from nothing.
Interactive setup for React, Vite, Tailwind and Uniweb.$npx uniweb create my-site$cd my-site$pnpm install - 2
Develop components and schemas
Open the project in your editor. Build standard React components in the foundation, and define the content schemas that describe what authors can fill in. The dev server picks up new section types with no build or restart.
Standard Vite dev server on localhost:5173.$pnpm dev - 3
Sync with the visual app
Create a free account to try the authoring experience. Authenticate, then push your schemas to the cloud to provision a visual workspace for your team.
Keeps local files and the cloud database in sync.$pnpm uniweb login$pnpm uniweb push - 4
Publish and host
Ready for production? Host the static build anywhere for free, or publish to Uniweb Cloud for a managed deployment with the live database behind it.
Or$pnpm uniweb deploy --host cloudflareuniweb publishfor Uniweb Cloud.
Start with one command.
Everything above runs locally, for free, on your own machine. The cloud is there when your team needs it.
$npx uniweb create site-project --template marketing
